Advanced Liver Therapies Research
Advanced Liver Therapies (ALT) at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is a clinical research center for liver diseases affiliated with the Baylor College of Medicine. The mission is to conduct Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved clinical studies designed to advance the science and practice of hepatology and liver transplantation. With over 75 years of combined research experience, our staff endorses and practices the highest standards of ethical research, while providing opportunities for all patients to participate in clinical trials.
Advanced Liver Therapies provides studies for new therapies of liver disease and complications associated with those diseases. Below are some of the diseases that are treated by our staff.

- Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD/NASH)
- Hepatic Encephalopathy
- Primary Biliary Cirrhosis
- Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis
- Hepatorenal Syndrome
CHI St. Luke’s Health Liver Health Outreach (our community outreach and education partner) provides an avenue for community access to information about treatment options including our studies.
